Why Lithium?

Whether you purchase or lease our Lithium batteries, you get better value. Lithium batteries outperform Lead-Acid batteries in every way - so much so that the list is long.  The following is a summary of the advantages of Lithium over Lead-Acid:

Safety: All of our Lithium batteries have a built-in Battery Management System to protect themselves and your cart; avoiding most problems before they happen.  Your only job is to "plug and play!"

No Maintenance:  No need to clean-up acid, top-up fluids or keep them charged over the winter months.  Turn them OFF and Lithium batteries can be left all winter at any temperature. When it warms up, they are ready to go.

Usable Capacity:  Even “Deep-Cycle” Lead Acid batteries are never supposed to be discharged to more than 50%.  As you may well have found-out from draining your car battery, if you do that often capacity, efficiency, useful life will suffer - and with that crappy guage, who-knows?? Lithium batteries have an ACCURATE guage, can be drawn right down to 0% with almost no damage, and can be routinely drawn down to 80% depth of discharge. Compare the performance of Lithium (red) over Lead-Acid below:

Power and Efficiency: Something else you can see from that graph is Lithium is more efficient at delivering and maintaining power than Lead-Acid. From the get-go, at all speeds, temperatures, and for the lifetime of your battery. Acceleration and power-delivery (hills) are noticeably better for Lithium than Lead-Acid, making our batteries extremely popular for the Custom Cart owner.

Weight and Size: Lithium batteries are typically 1/3 the weight and 1/4 the volume. In some cases, the same size as a single Lead-Acid, and weighing as little as 30 pounds!  Weight-savings increase performance and range in your carts. Less volume means… room for Stuff under the seat, such as a cooler!

Life-Span: Lead Acid batteries may last 5 years or even a bit longer, depending on how well they  are managed and maintained.  Lithium batteries will last at least 10\ years with a capacity loss of 20-30%. And that is with NO MAINTENANCE. Also, your batteries are still functional and capable of going longer, or being re-purposed after 10 years of life (solar anyone?).  If you have more than one (ie: a golf-course), combining two 10-year-old batteries in parallel would allow those batteries to be used for another 10-years.

Faster Charging: Lithium batteries charge 2.5 times more quickly - if you are a Golf Course, this is especially noticable is when you need it the most : top-ups between Rounds are much faster.  Lithium has one-fifth the charging-losses when new (97% vs 85%), and it just gets worse (for Lead-Acid) as they age.

Warranty: Our batteries come with either a 6-Year Replacment Warranty, or an 8-Year Prorated Warranty, and realistically you can expect them to last 10-15 years trouble-free.  You will even use about 50% less electricity.

Operating Temperatures:  Lithium batteries operate well in temperatures ranging from -5 to +55 degrees celsius, so unless you need your cart in the winter, you are covered. They can also be stored at temperatures as low as -40 degrees celsius (or lower….).

Purchase or Leasing Option for Golf Courses: Purchasing or leasing Lithium batteries depends on the purpose and time frame you plan to keep your carts.  If you plan to keep your carts for 10-years, then we recommend purchasing the batteries.  This is the most cost effective way to operate your carts over the lifespan of the carts and batteries.
